So, here are some photos of our campsites at The Trees RV Park.
It’s actually nicer than a lot of Alaska RV parks as far as site spacing and vegetation between sites. They have full hook-ups for $30/night or water and electric for $20/night (but they charge $15 to use the dump station). All sites are back-in. We opted for the $20 sites.
They also have laundry, pay showers, a nice general store, and a liquor & wine store.
As planned, we had a leisurely morning, and I took some pics of the resident Stellar Jays.
A little later, the ladies did laundry and got that knocked out. It had been a while and we had four loads each.
The park itself doesn’t have Wi-Fi, but they offer it through Alaska Power for a fee. We splurged on that, but it turned out to be inconsistent. It worked fine when it was working, but speeds and website access changed a lot so it became infuriating. (Note: I complained to the company and we got a full refund a few days later.)
Therefore, I drove into Petersburg and went to the library where they had great Wi-Fi and a quiet place to write and upload photos.
And that was pretty much it for the day.
Oh, for dinner, Linda made cheese taco shells and we had salmon tacos while Esther whipped up a halibut chowder. Creativity with fish will be one of the themes of this trip.
Tomorrow, the plan is fishing for the boys and more beach combing for the girls. We’ll see how that goes.
