There were some snow flurries here in Grand Rapids yesterday, and we got a light dusting of snow overnight. Right now it's 28 degrees.
So here's a photo from the set of FOX17's Morning Mix with Leigh Ann Towne where we did an interview yesterday morning.
And here's a link to the full interview: "Couple Gives Up American Dream For Life On The Road In An RV".
The first time we did one of these, I was scared out of my mind. Linda loves a stage, but TV was way out of my comfort zone. Now, we've done enough interviews over the years that I'm not nervous at all. And a great host makes them fun and easy.
This year at the RV show, we're sharing a seminar room, and there are seminars on the hour every hour. So, we have to set up and pack up for each seminar. Plus, our hour-long seminars have been compressed into 45 minutes without much time for questions. It's not ideal, but we're making it work, and we give people a location to meet afterwards if they want to continue the discussion.
Our turnout for the first two seminars yesterday was good, especially for a Thursday. We're expecting big crowds, especially for Saturday.
This morning, we were picked up again at 8:45, and Andrew drove us over to the local ABC affiliate "13 On Your Side". We had an interview with Catherine Behrendt who has interviewed us a couple times before in past years. The link to that interview is now available: "Learn about life on the road from full-time RVers Howard and Linda Payne".
Catherine is another pro that makes it easy. And having worked with her before made it even more comfortable.
So, now we're just biding our time until today's seminars at 2:00 and 7:00. Perhaps we'll go over early and walk through the show or peruse the RVs between seminars so see what's new.
Until next time.
Another nice interview! Howard you seemed much more relaxed and comfortable!
Great comment about the positive of fulltime lifestyle - FREEDOM - so empowering!
