No Thanks. They eliminated us "trailer trash" for 50+ years and now they need more enrollment, they can stick it.

Nice write up. Thanks.

Thanks Howard for the write up.

Quick question, you mentioned that Coach Net offered a discount on tires but I don't see that listed on their website anywhere. Is that something we just have to call member services to obtain a quote?? After we get through this suspension repair we might need to consider replacing some or all of our tires earlier than we anticipated so any small discount will certainly help!

Thank you for this very well written description of FMCA. We decided to open our doors to all towable RV's NOT because of a need for members(we have had 22 straight months of positive membership growth) but because our FMCA members really do believe that "It is not about the equipment but it is all about the people" who have RV's. I simply do not understand the concept "trailer trash". We now have over 3500 non motorhome members and that number is growing every month! Jon Walker, FMCA National President

Yes, it is difficult to find the tire discount on Coach-Net's website. I logged in today and this "new benefit" is shown on the front page. Or if you login and click on "Benefits" you can find it there. However, you can also get to the information page without logging in here:

Well you know the statistics better than I do, but I'm not sure I agree with your assessment. Only 13% of the membership even voted on the opening of the membership to towable owners, so we only know a small portion of FMCA members might think "It is not about the equipment but it is all about the people" or they might have thought "We'd really like to keep it a motorhome-only club, but we aren't going to be able to do that and survive". We don't know how the vote would have come out if the entire membership had voted. Perhaps the lack of participation in the vote was the most telling statistic.

If you care to discuss this further, I'm eager to hear more about how the change wasn't due to the need to attract more members. We're happy to promote the FMCA because it's a great value, but there is more work to be done to prove to towable owners they are wanted for more than their membership dues.

In fact, I would love to discuss this and much more with you on the phone or in person.
