We have been over that road from the coast to Redding pulling our 28ft 5th wheel and there is NO way we would do it again. Glad they changed their minds.

What a great start the new owners have!

I thoroughly enjoyed reading every bit of the training for Doug and Kristi (it's always a refresher for us). We have always traveled with two dogs. One tends to roam the back seat so she has a seatbelt so as to not be a distraction. When we get to our destination. I get the dogs out, get them tethered nearby and help my hubby back in. The dogs know the routine too. Best wishes for the many wonderful memories you will have in your new cottage.

Having driven 299 from Redding to the coast ... I would not recommend it for a a new RVer. I would strongly suggest heading west further south. I would suggest I80 to 37 and then 101 north. Even hwy 20 around Clear Lake is better than 299!

Wow, the knowledge they gained is priceless!

How lucky are they to buy a used rig and have the former owners spend time helping them with everything. I'd sure like to have those backing into a campsite lessons myself. So glad it all worked so well for everyone. Love the "cabin" description. When does the Alaska trip begin?
