Sunday
Happy Easter! When we scheduled the Reunion Rally, we didn't check the calendar that closely and had no idea that our last day was on Easter.
Most of the folks at the Reunion Rally will be traveling today as Wine Ridge Resort had another rally coming in and the spots for an extended stay were not available unless they were booked well in advance.
We were only going to travel about 11 miles to the Nevada Treasure RV Resort where we have booked the month of April. It will be the site of our 2018 Spring Educational Rally starting April 23. We still have openings for that event, but there is only about a week left to register.
Check-in at Nevada Treasure wasn't until later in the afternoon, but we called and they said to "Come on over". Fortunately, our spot had been vacated and we were able to check-in and get parked early.
We're in Site 221 with full hook-ups with 50 amps and a concrete pad. Though the sites have more character and there are more trees and more landscaping than Wine Ridge, they are still pretty close together. And the utilities at the backs of the sites require extra hoses if your connections are not on the back of your RV.
After getting settled, Linda did some laundry and then we had a leisurely afternoon. A few other couples transferred over from Wine Ridge to Nevada Treasure, so we invited them for Happy Hour and a dinner of leftovers from last night's finale dinner. Dave & Dianne and Bob & Karen joined us, and we had a lovely evening.
Monday
Dave and I drove back to Wine Ridge this morning to play some pickleball. After about three hours of some great exercise and fun, we returned to Nevada Treasure.
It wasn't a very exciting day after that. Linda & I worked on medical questionnaires for our upcoming physicals, and then we watched the National Championship basketball game. Congrats to Villanova!
Tuesday
Today was a long day. We had a flight out of Las Vegas to go to Louisville. You see, we were supposed to do an RV show in Indianapolis which is about two hours from Louisville. So, we were going to fly into Louisville a few days early, take care of some doctor appointments (annual physicals, etc.) and then drive to Indy. We pre-arranged all of that.
But then the Indianapolis RV Show got cancelled. We always book non-refundable flights to keep our expenses down, so rather than cancelling we just changed flights around and kept our medical appointments. The RV show promoter will reimburse us for flight changes - I included such a possibility in our contract.
Since we'll be gone a few days, I made arrangements with Diesel Specialists in north Las Vegas to drop off our truck. We have two fuel tanks and several weeks ago, our small tank stopped registering on our fuel gauge. When I switch to that tank, the needle just goes to "empty". Plus we're due for an oil change and a service.
We are just about to turn over 100,000 miles on the truck, and we have about 35,000 miles on the replacement engine that was installed in 2012.
And while we were making that detour, we made arrangements to stop and see Sue & Larry. They were the ones that had a serious problem with their motorhome on the way to the Reunion Rally and couldn't make it. They were eventually towed to north Las Vegas and, if that wasn't bad enough, their dog passed away this past weekend.
After fighting the traffic and the construction on I-15 in downtown Vegas, we were running behind. But we made it to Sue & Larry's hotel where we dropped off their Rally t-shirts, gave them hugs and let them know we we'll be keeping them in our thoughts.
It turned out they were within a few miles of Diesel Specialists, so the timing worked out great. We dropped the truck off, and then took Uber to the airport.
We had to change planes in Detroit (always an adventure), and the ride was pretty good most of the way. But then we got into some rain and clouds and the final hour of our flight was quite bumpy. Linda squeezed my arm pretty hard a couple of times in the worst of the turbulence. We got into Detroit late.
When we landed, we saw that our connecting flight was delayed, so we didn't miss it. It was delayed over an hour. Eventually, the plane arrived and the passengers disembarked. But then there was heavy lightning and they closed the ramp, so we were further delayed.
Finally, we boarded the plane but had more delays on the tarmac. Plus the weather in Louisville was bad, so they weren't in any hurry. The pilot announced we wouldn't be making up any time.
When we finally arrived in Louisville just before midnight, we got an Uber to our friends' house. They were long asleep and didn't hear us come in around 12:30. Our room was ready and our bed had been turned down. It was the best check-in experience we've had this year.
After our long day, the nice, comfortable bed was a welcome sight and we collapsed minutes after our arrival.
Wednesday
This morning, Linda got up early as she had two doctor appointments and a nail appointment. I got up early with her, but after she left, I took a shower and went back to bed.
In the afternoon, we had dental appointments for cleanings and X-rays. Everything went well, and a new dental technician was excited about meeting us and learning about living in an RV.
Later, we enjoyed some pizza with Dale & Sandy. And Linda gave them tips and pointers on their new Instant Pot. She had each of them do some hard-boiled eggs as their first test.
And then we called it a night.
Thursday
Today we have our physicals, and then we are done with the medical appointments.
The rest of our days here we'll spend time with friends before flying back on Monday.
That wraps up our last few days. Now, our next post will likely be a bit more interesting .... maybe even shocking. Until then.
Your organization never ceases to amaze me. To have all of this figured out and scheduled to run like clockwork despite airline irregularities is really something. My life never seems to work like that. I can never get our appointments within days of each other. Well done.

Just wanted to share with you our favorite RV park in Pahrump. It used to be called Terrible's Lakeside RV Resort, but it has changed hands and is now just called Lakeside RV Resort. It is a Good Sam park. It also used to be a Passport America park, but I don't know if it still is. Here's the URL:https://www.lakesidecasinopahrump.com
It is such a pretty park. If you get a chance, drive by and check it out. Maybe you'll stay there next time. I know we will. 8^)

Shocking!? Way to leave us hanging. LOL I have been reading your journal for awhile, and have never commented, but I could not resist after that comment.
My husband and I are fifth wheel owners but I work full time and we only use it to travel in the spring and summer on weekends and vacations. I enjoy following your travels.
