Howard and Linda,

Looks like a great job you're doing Linda. I am a little bit concerned, though, that you may not have solved the leaking issue from the shower. Have you looked inside the shower stall really good to see if you can see potential water leakage areas, such as improper tile underlayment, tiles not adhering properly, grouting issues, or other areas that may have compromised the wet floor in front of the shower that is evident from your pics? As showers create a lot of water flow on these areas, I really hope you do not find that you will have to rip out the shower, right after you have finished grouting your new tile floor. I am a DIY myself, and a lot of leakage problems I have dealt with had a lot to do with poor installation of tile in the shower/tub areas. Here's hoping yours is not one of them.

btw, the closet flange is usually, not always, placed on TOP of the finished floor. This makes it create a good seal using only one wax seal with the toilet bowl.

~ cheers!

There doesn't appear to be any damage inside the shower itself, but we've all considered that possibility and have a back-up plan without having to rip out the shower should we discover there is a leak.
