After the morning routines, I got caught up in researching our upcoming stops in Vermont and New Hampshire. Those states are long from north to south but skinny from east to west, so I was trying to decide whether it might be better to explore them one at a time or criss-cross back and forth.
I looked for the usual - hiking, paddling, waterfalls, potential wildlife watching, and great scenery. Public campgrounds are certainly a challenge here in the northeast.
The Vermont state parks have no hook-ups, and if you are within two weeks of your stay, you can't see campsite availability online - you have to call the parks directly. They do however, have a PDF on their website that lists the campsites in the various state parks that are big rig friendly - Vermont State Parks Largest Sites.
And each park with a campground has an interactive campground map where you can click on individual sites and see a photo and a few details about the site. That's a nice little feature.
I had also forgotten that the British Open golf tournament was on. So, I watched golf while I was doing my research, returning a few emails, posting on the Forum, and narrowing down things to do here before we leave. Before we knew it, the day got away from us.
With it being too late to head out on an adventure and tiring of looking at my laptop, I got bored. I decided to finish a book I was reading which I suspected might induce a nap.
Eventually, we made dinner. Afterwards, I went back to my book while Linda watched a movie.
Maybe tomorrow we'll get back out and finish the loop we didn't complete yesterday. :)
