We had absolutely nothing on our agenda this week. It's been a nice week of no expectations or schedules.
We've been returning a lot of emails and doing our usual RV-Dreams tasks, but each day has just sort of evolved on its own. I have been working on my "What Fifth Wheel Would We Buy Now?" entry, and I keep changing the way I want to present it.
Also, we've just spent a whole lot of time watching TV and some of the dozen or so movies we recorded over the weekend with the free HBO & Cinemax preview on DirecTV.
But it hasn't been all couch potato stuff; I have had a little activity. :)
Lee and I played golf on Monday and tennis on Tuesday. Lee & Edie are going to be heading north sooner than they planned as it appears their grandbaby is going to come early. So Lee wants to get in as much golf and tennis as possible before then.
We were going to play golf on Wednesday, but with early morning tornado watches and a windy afternoon, we bagged that plan. So I went to the fitness center here in the park and worked out.
We're going to play tennis again on Thursday and golf on both Saturday and Sunday. I guess that's not technically "downtime", but I sure enjoy the athletic activities and it's the first time in a long time we've had a completely free week to just do whatever.
By the way, our hearts go out to the folks in the RV park in Louisiana that was hit by the tornado. Certainly, severe weather is something that can pop up in which even "homes on wheels" don't have the opportunity to get out of the way.
Weather is a huge deal for full-timers and, for some, it creates more anxiety than anything else. Linda has gotten better over the years as she has gained the ability to track storms and individual storm cells on Weather Underground (wunderground.com). She can pinpoint within minutes when rain is going to start and whether a serious storm cell is coming right at us or is going to miss us thus determining the necessity to vacate the RV and head to storm shelters or if we can remain in the rig.
Linda did laundry outside the park (the park laundry is a bit small and more expensive), and she did some grocery shopping. But she claims she has had no motivation to do anything else. I think she's been focused on her upcoming CT scan and doctor appointments next week, and she just learned that she now has to go to a lab for some blood work. Hopefully, all will turn out well, and she can put it behind her.
With our high deductible health insurance, we'll have to cover all these expenses, but that's why we have a Health Savings Account (HSA). That reminds me that I need to make a deductible contribution to our HSA for 2015.
One other thing I worked on was volunteer jobs for the summer. I found a couple of short-term positions in the northeast and applied for both. We've already heard back from one and it looks like it might be ours if we want it. But the other one is interesting too, so we want to wait a few days to see if that one is offered to us before committing.
So that's about it for the last several days. Linda's been whipping us up a little dinner, I grilled some burgers one night, and we've been hanging out at home. It's been a pretty "chillaxed" week. :)
