Howard, great review of what appears to be a revolution in the RV water heating system. Do those prices include removal of present system and installation of the new one? I would definitely go for the Comfort Plus, since there is such a small price difference between all of them and the benefits of the Plus are well worth the added expense.

Really happy to see your Mother appearing so chipper...Hope she has a really Merry Christmas and a great New Year...as well as you and your family.

Not much better in the world than the look of love in a mother's eyes for her son or daughter.

Great review - it sure sounds like Truma may have something that changes the industry opinion! It is brilliant that they had you at the show with first-hand, full-time, extended consumer experience with the product. Maybe American companies will learn something about who they should talk with first :-) Love Mom's photo - a priceless Christmas gift.

Howard and Linda, So in the end did you end up saving money on propane during the time you tested the unit? What are aftermarket install costs? How long would it take for one to recover the cost of the unit and the cost of install? Did/Would changing out your hot water heating system invalidate or affect the manufacture's warranty on the RV plumbing or outer shell of the RV?
Hope your mom is still making a rally and continues to do so!

Good meeting you on the phone and in person at the show. Best of luck with your mother. That's a tough deal around the holidays.

Very thorough report on the new Truma instant hot water heater. Looks like a winner. I too would be interested on the differences in propane usage. Glad to see your mom is still with you.

Your mom looks bright as a button! Even her eyes are smiling! ;->

Virtual hugs,

I'm glad you had a chance to do something "ordinary" for a few hours. :-)

Sorry about your Mother.
I have no interest in a more sophisticated and much more expensive WH than our "legacy" Suburban WH, using my own propane vs usually included RV site "free" electricity", unless perhaps it saved a lot of weight. Assuming a legacy WH weighs 20lbs, and a minimum of 8 gallons of water at 64+lbs or 80+ lbs with 10 gallons, how much less does the Truma with water weigh?

Howard and Linda,
On behalf of Melanie, Brenda, Mark, Gerhard, myself, and all your other friends at Truma, we express our heartfelt gratitude for your friendship, and a profound appreciation for the time we were able to spend together. May you and your loved ones, including your mother, feel the peace and love which accompanies this special Christmas season. Merry Christmas and best wishes for a happy New Year!
