Originally, we talked about getting an early start. But then we decided to take our time and just leave the cottage when we were ready.
After numerous goodbye hugs and handshakes and even a few departure tears, we got on the road sometime after 11:00 a.m. The later start pretty much assured that we wouldn't quite make it into Michigan tonight. We would just drive as far as we felt like driving and find a hotel along the way somewhere.
As we started out, I just couldn't pass up another "Wild Blueberries, Home Baked Goods" roadside stand. So we stopped and bought some tarts. I wanted to just shove the pies, tarts, muffins, jams, breads, and everything else blueberry into a bag and throw it in the Jeep, but we showed a little restraint and stuck with a four-pack of delicious tarts.
After that, our main goal was to stay north of Toronto as we headed west through the province. We had a nice trip although there was some rain and some major road construction in downtown Newmarket that slowed us down.
Eventually, we stopped for dinner in the town of Listowel and decided we'd better find a place to stay. The LPGA is having the Canadian Open in London, Ontario, so a couple of places we checked out there were already booked.
So, we ended up in a little family motel in the Clinton/Bluewater area.
Tomorrow, we'll make the push to Bremen, Indiana and we should arrive sometime around 3:00 or 4:00. Looking forward to seeing the new paint job AND to sleeping in our own bed. :)
We can't wait to see pics of your newly painted rig!

Wow! Great looking paint job to go with your new roof and new floor coverings. I guess you will be weighing rigs for a little while longer to pay off these expenses!
Glad that you had a good time in Canada. We have great scenery up here, mostly inaccessible by vehicle. BC is probably the worst for that with more untouched park land than anywhere else in Canada (mostly mountains and rugged coast line.)
Of course, some people think that is good, that you cannot drive into these pristine wilderness settings...I will leave it up to you to decide for yourself.
Hope the rest of the year goes good for you and Linda and no more health or financial surprises.
Cheers!
