Oh Wow!!!! Hope your mom is OK and can get back to her flowers real soon. Give her and your dad a hug for us.

Jim and Linda

Oh my! I'm glad it wasn't anything more serious, and that someone was kind enough to call you. She could have been laying there awhile! I'm sure you guys are happy that you are in the area for times like this.

Your folks look great, and I hope to be doing two flights of stairs at that age! Your mom's fall was a bit extreme just to get her own page in the Journal :-). Sure glad she's going to be okay. She needs to work on her story about how the "other guy looks worse". Glad her guardian angel was driving by at the right time....

So sorry to read of your Mom's fall Howard but glad she seems to be doing ok. You can tell by her photo that she is a real 'trooper'. Both of your parents look great by the way! And your Dad's garden is amazing. Hope Mom's bruises clear up quickly & that her aches & pains don't cause her too much discomfort while healing. Enjoy your time together! :)

Glad your mother is on the mend.
We had a similar problem with our Millenicom hotspot and it was a Verizon problem. They ended up resetting the GB used to zero for both Millenicom and ourselves. Once fixed everything worked great. We can compare the speeds of our 4G Verizon phones side-by-side with the hotspot and they are often in the same league.

I am one of those people out there going through a similar experience with my mom (age 86). In May when I visited she fell over her night stand and broke her right wrist. We have been researching assisted living centers, etc. so will find any information about eldercare you put in the journal very helpful. All the best to your mom.

Howard - Glad your Mom is ok.
We had the same issue recently that Bill Joyce spoke of regarding Millenicom and our hotspot that is on our cell phone. Just got a reset and will be testing it again. Notifying them of the issue seems to spur them to action to fix the problem. I can't live with slow response time and do my job, so happy to report they are trying to resolve the issue.

Wow, sorry to read about your mom's fall.

We've had similar situations with Steve's mom. Those falls are always a fright when they happen to our elderly parents, but it was good you could be around for support.

Hope she recovers quickly...

It's amazing how busy those times "back home" get!

So glad your mom is all right. Thank goodness for the kindness of others. Your parents look wonderful:)

I'm so glad your mom wasn't any worse after falling. We think of both your parents quite frequently. I'm so glad there's still people that get involved with others.

So glad there are people looking out for your parents! My mom has a neighbor, too, that is wonderful, and it lets us rest easier knowing that they are around when we are not! Glad her injuries weren't worse, and hope she heals quickly! That's quite a garden your Dad has -- he must have a super-green thumb!

Sorry to hear about your Mom. I have a photo of my Mom with about the same injury.

I am interested in what you find out about assisted living for veterans. My mother is the widow of an Air Force officer and I have recently been told that there may be some assisted living places for officers or their spouses. If you stumble onto anything of that sort, please let me know. I'm also wondering about what you said about getting your parents some more financial assistance through the VA since they're still living in their home. I'll be following to see what you find, as I'm sure many others are too.

Howard I missed this post and just want to tell you how sorry I am that your mother took that spill. It is so scary when we get older to fall since things don't mend so well. That looks like a hard tumble she took. My father is 93 and I will be very happy to hear what you find out about the VA Benefits. He fought in the Pacific Theater in WWII and worked all his life as a machinist saving his money almost miserly. He is able to take care of himself now, but I'm not sure for how much longer. Please give my best to both of your parents. I really hope we will be there to see them at the reunion.
