« Jump Off Viewpoint Hike | Main | Alum Cave Trail To Mt. LeConte & LeConte Lodge - (Pigeon Forge, TN) »

There is a pretty nice COE park at Douglas Lake. The one above the dam is much nicer than than the one below it. It's a few miles past The Dam Store :)

Enjoy your hike to Mt. Le Conte tomorrow.

We stayed at the Anchor Down Resort about a little over a month ago, nice park, LARGE investment in time and dollars creating this CG.
Nice sites, but they are a little close together and many of the sites are quite short.
The staff at Anchor Down are great and very accommodating. We had a site down near the lake with a awesome view out our back window.

You'll love Mt LaConte Howard and Linda. Take your time on the trail. Lots of great photo opportunities and breathtaking views. A bit cooler up there too :-) We did the Alum Gap Trail the first week in October a few years back. There is a picture in the lodge that you should look for. Imagine strapping a ladder-back chair to your back and putting your Mom on there and then hiking to the top so she could see the little cabin that you built on top of the world. :-) Happy Trails

I'm sure the resort was costly to build and costly to run, but I can't imagine enjoying such a cramped site at any price. Now a rally would be fine because we'd all be at your fire anyway.....

Hope you enjoy your hike to the lodge. We did the Alum Cave Trail a few years ago and it was spectacular. Had lots of snow and ice in mid March. Don't miss sitting around the stove in the lodge just talking with everyone.

I am so envious of your hike tomorrow. What a GREAT time you are going to have. Can't wait to hear about it and see the pictures..........unless.........it rains! :-)

The floor looks really nice.
