Wishing you and Linda a happy, healthy 2014! That sounds exactly like how we bring in the new year, heads on pillows! Tim and Crystal sold us our Sea Eagles and are wonderful to work with. We just bought a travel case from them and are flying to Ft Myers the end of January, bringing our kayak. Would you add us to your list of people interested in a co-op venture?

Although I'm a newbie, I would be interested in hearing more about the CO-OP idea. Still figuring it all out, but I know I'll be wanting warm weather in the winter and will need a place to go….
SO, please add me to your list of folks interested in exploring the CO-OP concept.
Happy New Year!!!

Several years after my family had begun camping...my parents bought a site in a cooperative campground...a corporation started it...sold lots to folks...basically was a club house, swimming pool and a pond...took off with the money...roads weren't done...a mess...my parents and the other initial purchasers sued...won...and the fun began...a real co-op was born...and some of the best years of my youth were spent at Springwood Lake Camp Club...not far from where you bought your rig...they have a facebook page...and though I visit it...I'm not happy with the changes made...but that's not my concern...just wanted to let you know that I grew up in a campground co-op...and it was fantastic!...

Looks like you're having fun by the water, even if it is cloudy. I guess you know about the Escapees Co-op parks; perhaps those who bought in would be a good source of info. Hope you have a wonderful new year.

Pleinguy,

Yep, we know about the Escapees Co-Op parks - that's where we first learned about the concept. Also, we have a book on the history of Escapees and how the Co-Ops got started. That's also where we've learned a little about the politics of a Co-Op, but the Escapees handle it pretty well.

And wishing you a wonderful 2014 as well. :)

Florida is over-regulated and very hard to do business in that state. Georgia is much easier and has mild winters. So does Texas.
Thanks for looking into it, great idea.
