Absolutely awesome! I can't wait to get to the Tetons for a summer...:-).

So do you ever carry bear pepper spray?

Thank you for taking us on the tour of the area. We only hope that we'll be there one day in the future :)

Incredible pictures today!

The parks and experts all recommend carrying bear pepper spray. It definitely increases the odds of survival in a bear attack. For liability purposes we recommend it too. :)

However, the odds of encountering a bear while on foot are very, very high. And the odds of encountering an aggressive bear are even higher. And the odds of encountering and aggressive bear that will go through with an attack are even higher. It's a very, very remote possibility statistically.

The short answer is "no" we haven't yet carried bear pepper spray. We might if we feel a particularly high level of danger in an area, but we haven't yet been in that situation.

From an existential perspective, if I'm in a wild animal's habitat and I'm attacked against all the odds, well I suppose then it is my time to go and going at the hand of nature is all right with me. I wouldn't be too crazy about the pain involved, but death in a natural environment, for me, wouldn't be a bad way to go. I probably shouldn't write that, but it's the way I feel. :)

Have you considered ear plugs for noisy campsites?

Thank You for the wonderful pictures. Almost like being there. Brings back many memories of our trips through this area and ideas for future trips.

Say Howard, you mentioned that you plotted a course through Yellowstone to minimize sharp turns and steep grades. That's smart planning, but what resources do you consult for such information. Thanks, Dan WT
