Only a guy would refer to jumper cables as "really nice set".........geesh, too funny.

I have in the past pushed Ford and Jeep into doing the "right thing". I convinced Ford I could do much harm to their future business. I convinced Jeep I would have them in the local rural courthouse in short order. You are in an unique position to effect Ford's Heavy Duty truck sales. Use that leverage to your advantage. Ford promoted the "power stroke", to no end. They charged a premium for the engine. Who would have purchased that package if they had known if may fail at 64,000 miles with NO consideration from Ford ????

Howard, glad you have passed the decision making point on truck repair and are now down to where "the rubber meets the road" and into the actual repair work. Don't suppose you will ever get an actual cause for your engine problems...would like to know if it was some internal defect or attributed to an over-rev incident. There should be some rev-limiter that would not allow a downshift that would place the engine into an over-rev condition. I do know that at times with a load and on steep inclines mine will rev to a point that I am a little concerned, and I will use some braking to lower the revs....

About Glynn's comments...I have a lifetime of being an advocate, talking business people and politicos into and out of things. My experience is that threats never work and do more harm than good to your position and to what you want. Especially with experienced business people. Threats bounce off of them and just do not work.

Linda and Howard - so happy to hear that you are on your way to getting back on the road and a much more enjoyable life. Situations like this are the exception but when they happen it sure doesn't feel like it. Just curious, I thought I read that you had an extended warranty on your truck. Does that help you with the expenses and if so, what was covered? Well, best wishes again.

So glad to hear you two have decided against the Amazon gig in favor of representing the Warranty group! I say this not because I have anything against Amazon but because you and Linda are such talented business people and have so much more to offer. I would and will buy from you when the time is right- because of your thoroughness in researching, and I like and trust you after reading you for 2 years! Best to you on these endeavors.

Howard, have you asked anyone if it is possible to replace your old 6.0 with the new 6.7 ?

Glad to hear you are getting your truck issues resolved. John and I are excited about the rally. We didn't think it was going to work to attend but some things changes that made it possible. I think we will enjoy it being a small group. :)
