After the severe weather went through in the wee morning hours overnight, it rained through most of this morning. Linda slept until 11:00.
Eventually, it cleared up and turned into a nice, but wet, day. Linda decided to get some laundry done here at the campground, and I worked on our Campground Reviews all day and most of the evening.
I got the South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida reviews caught up from this winter. Now, I just have to finish up these last two campgrounds in Tennessee. Oh, and I have to update our Campground Map and our campground reviews by year. Hopefully, I can get that done tomorrow.
With six years on the road, we've only got 27 states in which we've camped. So we're looking forward to picking up some northeastern states this summer and the northwest and north central in the next couple of years.
As it got late in the day, mist started covering the calm lake.
It made for an interesting transition into the night.
Here is one of the hills along the lake viewed from the shore behind our rig.
And with that, I went back to work on the campground reviews and Linda, The Storm Tracker, started watching the next line of bad weather.
This band was a lot thicker and it didn't look like we would get by it as nicely as last night. But it sure was slow-moving.
We repeated the routine from last night where I eventually fell asleep in the recliner, and Linda continued to wait for the storm to arrive in the middle of the night. And she waited and waited .... only dozing off briefly.
1:00 a.m - nothing. 2:00 a.m. - nothing. 3:00 a.m. nothing. 4:00 a.m - nothing. Finally, at 5:00 a.m., she announced we were going to the bathhouse to await the impending storm.
So, we packed some clothes and snacks and the computer with our cellular modem so we could watch the storm on radar. Oh, and we took our loungers for comfort while we waited.
We set up shop in the women's restroom in front of the shower stalls in the older bathhouse building.
And we waited. 6:00 a.m. - now the rain was coming down and the wind was picking up AND we were actually in a Tornado Warning area. We saw others vacate their RVs and head to the newer bathhouse across the road, but no one joined us. Just before 7:00 a.m. the most severe part of the squall went through. We had strong winds, thunder and lightning, and heavy rain, but, fortunately, no tornadoes and no hail.
Once Linda verified the worst part was over, we packed everything up and headed back home in the rain. Now, it's time to get some sleep. Looks like we've got some more weather to worry about later. Sheesh. :)
Our niece live in TN and reports regularly on FB about the crazy weather they're having. Next, they're waiting for the flooding. Sure hope it's not as bad a last year in May.

OMG, that picture of Linda reminds me of last month in Florida....I camped out in the bathhouse...although, didn't have the setup quite as nice as Linda's!:) I'm glad to see that I'm not the only "storm tracker"...I sit up and watch and my DH sleeps till I roust him out of bed....
My daughter lives in Brentwood....luckily has a basement apartment!

Wow Howard, you guys are much more prepared for bath house waiting than we are. David said that he had formerly given me the award for "storm tracker" but we both bow to Linda.
We've been once to the bath house this morning and tonight to the basement of the restaurant in Cumberland Mountain State Park.
At this moment it is pouring with lightning and thunder as we sit by the weather radio.
Do you think Mother Nature has had enough of this species' shenanigans???
