Howard,Our Garmin seemed confused the whole time we were in North and South Carolina.Must be something in the water:)

Thanks for writing about this.

Not the same sort of medical issue as you're writing about and I'm not a full-timer (or close), but on our maiden RV voyage, I fell (unrelated to the RV!) and broke my shoulder quite badly. Short version of the longish story: local (to campground) RV/hospital admitted and initially planned surgery resulted in 2-night stay; that hospital decided not best place to do surgery (believe me, I'm happy to take the surgeon's word for it if he says that...). Meanwhile my mom and preschooler were staying in the camper and had no cellphone service or other connection with the outside world; 30 minute drive from the hospital. After 2 days my mom drove us home (leaving camper behind; it's a TT) and I had the surgery done locally.

While this might not be useful to a true fulltimer (with no home base), I've since eyed medical evacuation insurance (specifically http://www.medjetassist.com/ ) as a possible purchase if we undertake any longish trips as a family. The family plan seems affordable and while I realize there's a low chance we'd need it, would obviously be great to have if we did (heaven forbid) -- and we are prone to wandering into remote spots and are not accident- or medical-condition proof, as my experience shows. If you or any of your readers have information about this sort of thing, I'd be interested to know about it!
