When I got up, it was 39 degrees and the high was only supposed to be in the upper 50s. It's amazing how temps that are 15 degrees cooler seem absolutely frigid. :)
As usual, we muddled through the morning. Around 11:o0 Linda put on a crockpot of chili and then we made a trip to town.
I needed to get something called a "crossover" cable, and Linda needed to get some beads and mail off a couple bracelets. Neither of us had any desire to go to town yesterday, and today wasn't real high on our list either. But we never know what our choices might be in the area of the next campground. :)
She found a bead store called Ya Ya Beads, so we headed in that direction after finding a post office. Ya Ya had what she was looking for, but they were a little pricey compared to what she is used to. So she just got what she needed and we were on the move again.
Traffic wasn't too bad and we were able to find the cable I needed. Great. Let's get out of here. Back to the campground. :)
While I watched football and updated expenses for the month, Linda went for a walk and then sat outside in her lounger in the sun and read. Early in the afternoon, she got a campfire going.
She nursed her campfire into the evening, and I eventually ventured out for sunset pics.
I walked down to the lake and around to the end of our cove, trying to avoid sinking in the soft red mud. After getting the above shot, I moved on around to Site 18 for this next photo.
Beautiful.
But once the sun went down, it got colder quick and I scrambled back to our site. Linda had me put a big ol' log on her fire, and I went back to watching some of the great football rivalry games.
Later, she had her chili by the fire and roasted some marshmallows. I had my dinner and a snack in my recliner with the fireplace on. It wasn't too much longer before it got too cold for her to wait out the burning of the big log and she came inside.
Now, I never mind a little "alone" time, but it's a bit unusual for Linda to spend that much time by herself in a day. When I asked if she enjoyed her "alone" time, I was expecting something like "Ya know, I did find it refreshing". Instead, I got "I was just trying to get away from football". :)
So, where I would have found her afternoon and evening to be quite relaxing and enjoyable, she considered it simply as a way to kill time. :)
Such is life for two people with incredibly compatible overall interests and life philosophies that also happen to have completely different genetic wiring. Sometimes it takes real management of our differences, but mostly, we're just naturally "best friends" and, in this lifestyle, that's a really good thing. :)
Well allrighty then. Didn't expect to take that little detour. :)
We didn't really do anything today to make us tired, but by 9:00 we were both ready for bed. I didn't make it through the late football games, and I don't think she made it through whatever show she was watching.
Tomorrow is supposed to be much like today weather-wise. We don't have any plans, but I've had my fill of football, so that won't be on the agenda. Perhaps we'll drive around the lake. There are 13 Corps of Engineers campgrounds plus a few state parks and a couple of National Forest campgrounds to check out. Or perhaps we'll just hang out and do something between "nothing" and "not much". :)
Modoc Sunset are spectacular!!
Hope you decide to explore the other campsites and report back ;o))
Your right on about best friends...this lifestyle works much better that way:o)

Linda, you need to get Howard some headphones for Christmas. I got Al some Sony headphones a couple years ago. He loves them and I don't have to listen to that noisy football game. In a small space of an Rv I imagine they would be even nicer so you don't interfere with the other person's tv programs. A must have in my opinion.

I bought my husband TV ear last year as a gag Christmas gift but it was a gift for both him and I. He can watch TV without his hearing aid and I can hear myself think. Great gift.

I'm with Linda on both accounts of football and medical shows. I'm sick of that screaming on football games, it grates on my nerves. I do like the suggestion from Karen about headphones. Looks like a good idea for Christmas.
The sunsets are really pretty.
