Wasn't Hocking Hills State Park one of the most unexpected surprises of your travels?

Like you, our first experience was during the dry season, and it was wonderful. But you cannot imagine how enchanting the place is after a heavy rain. And what other park, State or National, has overflowing crowds DURING the rain? Have you looked at Monday's forecast?

Thanks for the pictures and the descriptions. We were in Ohio this past summer and Hocking Hills was on our lists. Unfortunately the temperatures that week were in the upper 90s with high humidity so we decided tent camping was out of the question. After reading your blog now I know we have to get back there sometime down the road.

Linda....looking good, weight watchers...you rock

We had heard of Hocking Hills and have intended to go there. We will have to move it up on our list the next time we are in the midwest. Great pictures.

Glad you enjoyed the park. Now return in winter for another beautiful, but snowy perspective.

We moved to Lake Wylie, SC right out of Charlotte from Ohio 2 1/2 yrs ago. We have camped alot at Maumee Bay, as well as Hocking Hills. It's great to see the pictures. Brings back memories, but not enough to leave this great climate to go back north!
