This morning, Linda fixed us some egg sandwiches using the fresh eggs we got from Joy, one of the employees here at Thunder Bay Resort. I'm not sure whether or not it was the freshness of the eggs, but that was one of the best-tasting egg sandwiches I've had in a long time. :)
Jack came by at 9:00 to pick us up. By 10:00, he, Linda & I, Ted, & Randy were back on the Thunder Bay River where we left off last week.
We continued to trim back dead branches and saw downed trees that could be hazardous to our raft and guests. We were careful to only trim what was necessary.
I think we might be about half way through. But there is still a lot that needs to be done.
It was another hot day, but it certainly didn't seem too bad standing in the river. :) And, though Linda may disagree, I don't mind the heat at all. I could, however, do without the bugs. :)
We wrapped things up and floated down to our takeout point. It was about 2:00 by the time we retrieved the van and loaded the raft.
Jack took us on a quick detour to Atlanta where we stopped by the Thunder Bay River Canoe & Kayak Livery. We met the owner and talked to him about the river a little. Really nice guy.
Back at the resort, Ted, Dave, & I played eighteen holes while Linda got Jan & Rebecca together to teach them some beading. The beading was far more successful than the golf. :)
Ted & I have come to the conclusion that golf, after a day of hard work on the river, is not such a good idea. :)
After finishing up on the course, I grilled some burgers and we had a relaxing evening. Another workamping day in the books.
We're not exactly sure what we've got going tomorrow. See ya! :)
