As long as you're going to be 'stuck' in Pahrump for a few days, let me recommend a couple of places to check out. First is Red Rock Canyon. It's a really nice loop to drive, plus there are several spots to pull off and go for hikes. At least one of them has a very nice picnic area a few hundred yards in off the parking lot. Also, an old quarry area that had an interesting placard describing the old mining efforts in the area.
Second is China Ranch Date Farm. It's a little oasis that you get to by traveling a very narrow windy gravel road through a canyon. Very cool. On the way, be sure to stop and read the placards about the place. Once you get there enjoy one of their Date Shakes. They have a nice little nursery and gift shop, too.
Have fun!

So sorry about your mechanical problem, hope it's resolved swiftly. We know resorts are not your first preference but glad to hear that it's OK! We were in Site #31, across the lake. Nice spot!
Is Linda feeding the ducks yet? Watch out for the geese!
Take Care,

Those tomatos looks great!!
I didn't know Terribles had any RV parks, but they have a lot of gas stations in NV and AZ. A bit of trivia for you, the Terribles do ok, last year they purchased Nicholas Cages house on Newport Bay for somewhere between 20-30 Million. And they have a nice yacht about 120' named Mr. Terrible sitting out in front.

Hope the rest of your trip is a safe one.

Hi, It's Sandi from Lake Arrowhead. You do know that you can use your points from gambling to pay for tyour RV site. It's a good deal. Check it out if you haven't been to the players booth.

Glad to hear you wheel problem was not "too" serious. Hope you caught it time before the brake drum was damaged. Being a "someday" RVer and Fulltimer, I have to wonder is there some difference between trailer brakes and car brakes? In your pics the drums look just like those on my pickup. Well anyway, enjoy your stay at that beautiful park you're in.

Howard & Linda I have to second the motion on going to the China Ranch Date Farm. If it is the one I am thinking of they are well known for geting clothes from the Salvation Army that did not sell and wrapping them around the dates to keep the birds from eating the dates. It is quite a site to see.

You are also not too far from Death Valley which is a fantastic place to visit.
