Sorry about your brake problems. I have been following the progress. I spent 35 years in auto repair (dealerships) and my opinion is the brake drum is the result of a problem not the cause. I don't know how 5th wheels brakes are controlled but when the smoke clears (no pun intended) the cause will be in the control system or a sticking magnetic puck. Your idea to test drive it for a distance with the bad tire is wise.
Good luck

Congrats on your poker wins.(and Lindas'also) I've been reading for about a year and really enjoy your site. I was glad to see you post about your weight "situation". I read several RV blogs and it seems all they do is eat. Eating out with friends and having pot-lucks and happy hrs. and I've been wondering about managing weight while full timeing. I gain 5lbs everytime we go out for 4or 5 weeks. Afraid to think what would happen if I ever go full time.
Best of luck on your trip to TX. May it be uneventfull. CJ

I must confess that I don't follow your budget anymore, but if I did would I find a column for gambling wins and losses?

Hey Fox,

Gambling losses are included in our entertainment expenses. But I offset the losses with the wins in that category.

Just off the top of my head, in four years I think Linda has probably spent about $200 on slots and won about $300. We've probably spent about $400 on table games and are pretty much even on wins. And I've spent about $500 on poker tournaments and won about $1,200.

I love to gamble, but we keep it within our entertainment budget. And as long as we take small wins from slots and table games and walk away, we stay on the positive side of the ledger. :)
