After yesterday's wonderful day relaxing at Juniper Lake, we chilled out at home. We handled a few administrative tasks and returned some emails.
We got an email from the publicist for the Recreation Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA). He is looking for full-timers from Texas and Georgia for magazine editors in each of those states.
In a clarification email, we were told they want people with Texas and Georgia roots that are already on the road. In other words, they are NOT looking for full-timers that adopted Texas or Georgia as a home state after the fact. :)
If anyone is interested, please let us know through our Contact Form and I'll pass along your information.
We also got an email from a reader asking us if we would be interested in a summer position in Michigan next year since they won't be returning as workampers. It looks like a nice place and the hours are much less than where we are now.
We did a bit of research on the area and we are considering our options. Linda feels like we should do at least one more workamping gig in a private RV park. Since free golf is a benefit, I am more inclined to think about it. :)
Other than that, we were pretty lazy today. We watched some TV and a movie in the evening and that was about it.
Yesterday was beautiful and memorable. And it refreshed us more than you know. :)
The idea of spending the summer in Michigan sounds exciting, but does that mean you are postponing your plans to travel to Alaska in the summer of 2010?

Sherri and I are looking into working somewhere. I have looked at Workamper and others but have not decided on what we really want to do. Maybe something exciting will come along??

Fred,
Yes, we are postponing our Alaska trip. Our intent was to purchase a truck camper for the trip and then sell it when we returned. However, with the drop in our accounts, we don't think it would be prudent at this point to make that cash outlay. :)

Where will you be workamping in Michigan? I could give you some insight about the location if you wanted. Have you camped in Michigan?

AJS,
Nothing solid on the workamping yet. We are a long way from finalizing anything, so I'm not quite ready to disclose the location. :)
We haven't camped in Michigan at all, so it would be completely new for us. I've heard the bugs can be bad in summer. :)

bugs aren't too bad, can be at times in the UP (black flies)but usually along Lk. Superior.
good luck. I'll check back
