Sounds like a good time to use your GPS. Mark the location of the fiver and then you can locate it in the dark.

It is hard to find your rig sometimes - you can't look for the flag pole since so many people have the flag high up a tall pole.

Maybe we should have our own personalized flag? A bird or flower or home state? Something that we could see from a distance would sure help sometimes :)

I'm glad you mentioned Leslie and Mike. We parked next to them at the Rally and was interested in where they were. We enjoyed getting to know them. Rally Benefit.

Look for a flashing High output LED light battery powered device, usually sold as a replacement for road flares. Set the device up on the roof to help locate your RV at night. The batteries will last for weeks of constant use and the LEDs can be seen for a couple of miles.

Here's what I use http://www.copquest.com/69-1000.htm

The two AA batteries are good for two weeks of use, so I just leave them on top of the 5th wheel turned on until we leave.

Does your GPS do the "breadcrumb" thing like Bill's post is probably referring to? Mine isn't a hiking type GPS and I don't think it has that feature. Without that feature the GPS wouldn't be much help if all you were trying to get from your current location to where you marked as "home". It will think you were out in the middle of nowhere and wouldn't have a clue about turning at this or that tree, RV, etc.
