Howard,
Since you'll probably be in Tucson anyway, the Tubac Art Festival is definitely worth a visit.

Howard, just continue with the original plans and when it's time for the bead show Linda can drive back to Tucson and either stay with friends or spring for a motel. She's happy, you're happy!

Since you're this close to the start of the shows it would be crazy to miss them.;)

Linda,

If you go to the Tuscon show, look for a vendor named Da Beads. A friend of mine, Jon Kubricht, owns it. Be sure to mention George Stoltz to him.

The show is a must-see. Don't miss it!

Oops. Looks like I'm gonna lose points with Howard.

Just a suggestion we were there to the show a couple of yrs ago and just went to the convention center show. It was very nice, get there early, and parking was good.

Sounds like you and Don need to drop Deb and Linda off in Tucson and the two of you - with both RVs continue on and let the girls catch up with you later. :) Have fun figuring it out!

The Tucson Gem Show was always on my "have to see" list, especially in my beading days. But, I never made it. The only advice I got from those who had been was "take lots of money":-) Enjoy! Will look forward to reports on the trip.

Howard & Linda,

I've tried to take my wife for the past two years to the beads shows in Tucson.

We made reservations for an RV spot at Beaudry's each year but had to cancel for one reason or another. Hopefully will be able to make it this year.

I'm guessing there may be several of the RV Dreams group in the area around the time of the gem show.

Might suggest a mini-rally for the guys while the girls do their thing. Guys golf, BBQ, hit a casino and sit around relaxing watching the games while the girls shop.
Keep it loose with a centralized meeting spot.

Five possible causes for dvd skips or freezes. First three are the most common. However the fifth was the most common 4 to 5 years ago.

1-The dvd is severly scratched. Look at the bottom of the dvd if there are a lot of scratches or a deep scratch the player may not be able to buffer enough to over come the loss of data.

2- The label is bubbled or something is causing the disc to be unbalanced. For example if a sticker has been placed on the disc or it's warped the disc will spin out of balance and the player will have trouble reading it.

3- dvds have copy guards that sense if the player is connected to some sort of copy device, such as a VCR or DVR. Some switch boxes will cause the copy guard to react. Usually when the copy guard is activated the picture will cycle light and dark on the tv screen and the sound will vary. Sometimes you will get blank screen with sound or skips. Make sure the dvd player is connected directly to the tv.

4- The head on the dvd player is dirty. There are discs with little brushes you can buy to clean the dvd player.

Or

5- Some of the older players (5 years or older, look at the date of manufacture on the player serial tag) have a problem reading some discs. Not enough buffer space or flexibility to over come defects on the dvd.
