That is ridiculous that these candidates refuse to answer these simple questions about where they stand on issues that affect every one of their constituents. As Americans, we should be embarrassed that we elect these clowns to govern us and to represent America around the world.

OK, I'm having trouble in my mind understanding using a 16" spare and a 17.5" tire and wheel on the same axle. It sounds like the different circumferences would put unwanted stress on the axle with that kind of weight applied.
Maybe I'm just full of beans but I don't think I'd do it.
Good Luck
Bob

Bob, the overall diameter of the tires is the same. Both tires are 30.5 inches. The circumferences are NOT different.

The 16-inch wheel and the 17.5-inch wheel are different sizes. BUT, the 235/85R16 tire has a smaller (16-inch) hole with larger sidewalls. The 215/75R17.5 tire has a larger (17.5-inch) hole with smaller sidewalls. The TIRES are the same size, so there is no extra stress on the axle with the different, but same size, spare. :)
