With this switch to solar have you guys ever put any thought into converting the truck to run on WVO?

Howard, I really appreciate the info that you're sharing about the solar panels, as I always wondered just how effective they'd be especially on "not full sun" days. So far, sounds like a good choice for the lifestyle!

Geesh, told you so....glad you found the solar setup as an addition. Sounds like you are learning quickly how to monitor your usage.

We modified our lifestyle slightly to get the best usage of our solar amps; doing without electricity is not part of the plan, so the sacrifices are minimal when you are able to both monitor your usage, and plan how to use the “bank” of power.

You will find better ways all the time on how to conserve your precious energy bank of power.

Solar power means freedom from the grid! There is really something about getting your electricity for free, makes you feel better every day…..and you are right, the ability to recoup your investment is looking better and better every day.

I haven't really considered a WVO (waste vegetable oil) conversion. It seems it might be easier to to get a consistent supply if you are stationary.

But I did some checking and Golden Fuel Systems (http://www.goldenfuelsystems.com/) recommends against converting a Ford 6.0 liter diesel which we have.
