Sure glad you guys are okay. That could have been nasty!

I sure am glad no one was hurt and that you were not towing your rv. This is one thing that can happen to anyone while being on the road anywhere anytime!

Sorry to hear about the close call but mercifully, your damage is slight.

I just wanted to add that we bought your air compressor shown at OSH in October 2007 in Sacramento, CA. It is still out there being sold and it works great.

This guy that lost the trailer evidently didn't even have his safety chains hooked up, or the trailer would never have come completely separated from his vehicle.

You're right, you were very lucky, and so was everyone else on the highway.

Or he did have safety chains, but he hadn't CROSSED them UNDER the hitch, so that the loosened tongue would have been carried by the chains. Hooking the chains up straight lets the tongue fall and dig in the ground, and flips the trailer.
Going over the speed limit, towing and overtaking on a narrow country road makes him a "Know-it-all Bubba", and we all know how dangerous they can be.
Thank goodness you are OK.

YOU carrying tools, you will be strapping on a nail bag, and wearing dungarees with a hammer hanging at your hip next!
I have that same compressor, Howard. I got mine on eBay. I use it for airing up tires, air bags, stapling, brad nailing, blowing sawdust off the table saw, chop saw, etc., and I have an impact wrench and sander to go on it, too. Small enough that even lil ole me can carry it. It sure is handy.
