Howard, Thanks for the glowing account of our fun afternoon! We really enjoyed the time with y'all (still practicing my Texan).

I can't resist a little history: Helen Hunt Jackson was a writer who lived in Colo. Spgs. during the winter of 1873-74. She was best known for her Native American advocacy and writing about the deplorable treatment of them by the American government. Emily Dickinson was a good friend of hers and they corresponded throughout their lives. She loved the area of Cheyenne Canyon where the falls bearing her name are. Cancer took her life in 1885.

Ok, that's all for today's history lesson. Thanks for the ride in the new jeep and the fun afternoon!

Best regards,
Ellie

Howard, I'm like you, I really like water falls and can't resist taking pictures of them. I truly enjoyed this journal and I'm glad you had a good time in the mountains. Keep up the good work and please keep the pictures coming. Happy Trails, Bob

All of your photos and journal entries have made us homesick for the mountains. We have changed our schedule for the fall and have booked a week at our friends condo in Dillon and will be doing some of our own side trips. Don't know what your next plans are, but if you want to see more of Colorado, the area around Montrose and Aspen are particularly nice. Our favorite place is Marble, on the back side of The Maroon Bells.

Glad you decided on the jeep. We are still looking. I think we want a Wrangler as we will do more serious "off roading", but we will see.

Safe travels.

That's what traveling is all about, seeing what is in "USA towns". What a great gallery and thank you for the pictures of the falls. The jeep was a great idea.

Enjoyed the pictures of Magic Town and also the notice of the word Darby on the one window. My first name is Darby and it came from my grandfather. He was a little man and his nickname was Darby. For years you hardly ever seen that name but it is becoming more popular now. I really am enjoying your journal and wish I was sitting next to you with my MH. I have told my brother-in-law about your site and he is ready to leave now, too hot here in Florida.
