« A Long Travel Day To Padre Island National Seashore | Main | Last Day Before Settling In For The Winter »

Hi Howard, about 3 years ago my hubby & I took a 10 day RV trip to S Padre. We had tons of fun. We found a little candy store in Port Aransas that makes melt-in-your-mouth, fabulous candy. We had a carmel/pecan candy that was so good. It's called Winton's Candies & it's on Alister St. Not good for the diet to spend too much time there, but great for a quick sweet treat!

Great to meet you guys. Hope we come across each other again, maybe in the same campground so we can get to know each other better. From Mustang Island we're heading to Goose Island SP which is just north of Rockport. We went there today and we can get sites backing on the water. There's no beach there (well there is but it's called Stinky Beach) but appears to be quite a few birds and no problems getting satellite!

Don't forget the solar panel when you get those new batteries and inverter.. to me the generator is just a backup.

Hi Howard and Linda, Thanks so much for the wonderful bird pictures - I really enjoyed them!

Gosh guys, sorry you haven't gotten the hang of boondocking yet! Keep trying; I'm sure you'll enjoy it once you get the hang of it. With your love of wildlife, once you get your first taste of being out in the wilds with no one around you might question why you waited more than a year to try it!
Linda: Repeat this mantra: "I do not need hookups-I do not need hookups-I do not need hookups....
Best of luck,

Great sunrise and bird pictures. I can relate to Linda's frustration, as you know how whiny I get without just sewer, but Howard, your expert writing skills actually made me feel sorry for you having to move. The mention of the paraplegic fulltimer brought a tear to my eye, and certainly does put everything into perspective doesn't it. I think I'll try whining a little less.
