We just wanted to take a moment to wish all of you a Happy Thanksgiving!!
Our RV-Dreams Family is very near the top of our list of what we are thankful for. As a matter of fact, much of what we said in last year's entry still holds true.
Our First Thanksgiving On The Road Journal Entry
However, this year our feelings of thankfulness do not seem quite as intense. It doesn't mean we are any less thankful. I just think it means that we are learning how to be thankful and appreciative more consistently throughout the year.
Last Thanksgiving we were still new at this and we had only been away from the corporate world and our previous hectic life a few months. Our thankfulness was chock full of relief as much as anything. :)
This year, though we are guilty of taking our new life for granted at times, we have stopped quite often to appreciate where we are and to be thankful.
I won't speak for Linda here, but for me, having Thanksgiving Day feel more like just a regular day is a good thing. I don't feel quite the need to sit down and make it a point to count our blessings on this single day because we do it so often throughout the year.
Rather than a lack of appreciation for Thanksgiving Day, for me, it's more a feeling of personal growth. I don't know if that makes any sense to anyone else, but I sure am enjoying this "peaceful, easy feeling" this morning. :)
So, if you do not get the chance as often as you'd like to consider what you are thankful for, do me one favor as you go through your day. Find a quiet spot for just a moment, close your eyes, take a deep breath, and recite to yourself what makes you happy about your life. Let that tear well in your eye, feel that feeling in your heart. Then return to your actvities with your own "peaceful, easy feeling" and a smile that says you know what it's all about. :)
Happy Thanksgiving!!
Howard & Linda
