Hi Howard:

I am sorry but I had a good laugh at your entry today. I kind of warned you a little but not enough I guess. I would add one warning. Watch out for the water systems down there. Most people who have been d fruithere for very long use reverse osmosis filtered water for drinking and the tap water can be really hard on you water heater. It can also get pretty cold down there and the wind blows and blows. All that said the place still has its positives. Some great fresh fruit and vegetables are grown in the valley. You will enjoy it I am sure.

Wishing you two the best whle workcamping and hoping things will be great.

I've never been to the RGV, but have heard that the wind blows most of the time down there. I remember a saying about being "the only place you can be knee deep in mud and have sand blow in your eyes"!

It's 84 and sunny in Naples right now and just a light breeze blowing!! :)

I hope you two have a great time this winter. Keep posting lots of pictures for us.

You've mentined the 4 1/2 month thing several times. It's funny how your perspective changes once you're "free". We can't retire for another 6 months to a year, so 4 1/2 months PART TIME seems like a dream to us.

FYI - Awnings and Wind
My In-laws snowbird near you and have for many years. Now they own a Park Model, but when still hauling the Fifth wheel back and forth from Ohio, they report they never could use their 5th Wheel awning due to the winds.

Sorry - no place is perfect!
