I grew up on the Mississippi, SE tip of IA, and there are sloughs all along the river and it isn't difficult to get lost if you don't know the area. The GPS is a great invention. I'm glad you are enjoying Iowa.

Howard, whats the draft on the FoldCat ? Couldn't you just row the boat thru the shallows ?

Howard I am a South Florida boy I am for seeing the fall colors-keep the photos coming.

Please, don't anyone be offended-but I would have thought "Spend time in Iowa, are you crazy?!" However your trip is helping a lot of us see beautiful and interesting areas off the proverbial beaten path.
H&L, great book idea~Judy

Ken,
The FoldCat would have made it through the vegetation without the motor easily. The problem is I have not yet mastered the rowing. :) Rather than practice rowing when I can't yet enjoy it, we called it a day. :)
