Hi Howard,
I thought I'd pass this along regarding spraying water spigots with a bleach solution: I've seen it posted in a few other places that a bleach/water solution loses its disinfectant properties after about 24 hours, so you need to make sure it's a fairly fresh mix before you use it on the water spigots.

Can't wait to start fulltimin'...

Tim

Wow, I never dreamed about cleaning the water hook-up.
Thanks for the education and you guys keep up the great work you are doing for us "wont-be-longer's"
just waiting to get the chance to do what you folks are doing. Stay safe!

Howard and Lynda,
From what little I know about Railroads these days, you're either on a seldom used spur or more likely a heavily used as most are "mainline". The railroads are a business and like to maximize use of their infrastructure. If you can observe the condition of the railroad roadbed, that can be a great predictor. If the gravel is well laid, clean and the rails are shiny...Sleep well!
Think of how neat it is to be so close to our nation's transportation heritage!

That railroad is heavily used! We have been to that park and the trains to run. They run with coal cars. Nebraska has lots of railways that are used all the time. Most are filled with coal but once in a while they are filled with other things.
Peace

I've had my eyes on "Karen's" newer sister for sometime - the Street Pilot c550. It gives the actual street name to turn on rather than "turn left" so you don't have to watch the screen - (wonder if that would help) -it's also bluetooth enabled so use with cell. Of course being new she costs more.

Tim,
You are correct in that the disinfectant properties of bleach water don't last very long. Linda makes a batch and puts it in the small spray bottle each travel day. I see you have started a Forum Topic on the subject. :)

Greg,
The nuvi 350 also gives street names (it's a feature you can turn off or on). The issue for me is reviewing the nuvi route selected before we head out. If you try to follow it based on the streets and mileages it gives you BEFORE you head out, it doesn't make sense. It is not until you are on the road that the correct street names & numbers are given when you actually reach that point. Not a big deal, but it is hard to double check a route before taking off. :) And all GPS units, mapping programs, etc. are only as good as the data in the software - they are outdated as soon as you buy them and even the updates are behind. You just hope your particular route is current. :)
