Howard, Without getting the exact #s, I am curious with the enhanced website, is your ad revenue going up each month, does it trend with your visitor traffic. Keep up the good work, oops I mean fun :)

Jeffrey, the Google ad revenue is slowly increasing a few dollars per month - not really anything to get too excited about, but every little bit helps. The Google ads are also the most consistent.

I know I almost never click on ads when I am on websites, so we appreciate it when folks do click. I would prefer not to have ads at all. But we have to use them to justify the time we put in and keep from having to charge for access.

The Google ads earn revenue whenever visitors click on them, so we hope the ads are relevant and we get lots of clicks from visitors researching sponsored sites, but we are not allowed to request clicks in any way.

The other ads earn a little (some of them are not set up to earn anything - just recommendations), but they do require a purchase or application, so they are much more inconsistent. The potential earnings is much greater than the Google ads if purchases are actually made, but it takes extremely high traffic to get enough purchases.

Those ads don't cost me anything to keep, so I keep them and swap them out every once in awhile.

Our hits on all websites are at a level where I may be able to sell ad space for flat fees. That would certainly help the current "put the ads out there and hope" strategy. :)

We are pleased with our ad revenue as it more than covers the cost of the websites, even with the new enhancements and additions. We are happy we don't have to ask for donations. However, the amount we are actually able to pocket is not as high as we'd like for the amount of time we put in. We are patient though, and we know all our efforts will ultimately generate the income we need, one way or another, to stay on the road. :)
