So great to see you again!! You are giving me too much credit for organizing Saturday night. Sue organized it, did all the cooking, I was just the messenger, but happy to help.

It was fun to get together in a smaller group setting, looking forward to seeing you again on Friday.

Glad you made it out of the sand! We got stuck up to the rear axle in the sand by the Great Serpent's tail in Borrego Springs. Luckily we had 2 flannel shirts and a pair of jogging pants in the F-150. We placed them in front of the back wheels tucking some under the tires and...it worked, we drove out! Tore up my favorite Flannel but we were free. I'm going to have towels in the pickup next time we get near sand.

To those reading along, we do agree with Linda very much: Four wheel drive is a choice and we've been very glad we made the choice to have it many, many times - including in commercial campgrounds. Not just boondocking off-road.

It's like a spare tire - you don't need it till you do; then you really need it. There isn't always someone around with four wheel drive to help you out. ("Ask me how we know this.")

An opinion based on our experience over the last 13 years. Naturally, YMMV.

Howard,

Just a thought, and changing the above subject just a weebit, but do any of the other rally attendees at this moochdocking rally have blogs with pictures or videos that they post daily? I love your blogs, but you get so busy that I would love to see what's happening at these events in real time...for those of us who cannot make it now or even ever!!! Just a thought and I know how expensive bandwidth is and can be.

Thanks for looking into it for this very envious long, long time follower who can't seem to convince the wife to full time RV...:-(
