I usually try to provide this reminder about a month before year end rather than two days, but we had some extenuating circumstances this year. :)
Anyway, for those that are in the market for an extended warranty, your RV will be one model year older on January 1 and that means your premiums will be higher. So, if at all possible, you may want to get a quote and secure a contract before year end. You can get a quote on our RV Warranty Quote Request page, and our warranty partners at Wholesale Warranties will do their best to get you taken care of.
Also, if your RV is model year 2001, these may be the last couple of days to get coverage. Once it becomes 2016, only model years 2002 and later will be eligible for an extended warranty through Wholesale Warranties.
This morning, I went to a few of the labs here in the Silver Springs/Ocala area trying to get my periodic blood testing. But there was an hour to an hour and a half wait everywhere, so I'll try again tomorrow - earlier in the morning.
Today we worked on getting caught up on emails, and Linda got caught up on entering all the Rally registrations we received while we were gone. I had to take care of a couple things for my Dad, and worked on a few other administrative items.
Also, we're making sure everything is in order for our upcoming RV shows.
We will be doing seminars at the Wisconsin RV Super Show in Milwaukee January 8 - 10.
Then, the next weekend we will be at the Cincinnati-Dayton RV Super Show in Dayton. That's a five-day show from January 14 - 18.
Around 2:30 this afternoon, Lee picked me up and we went over to the Ft. King Tennis Center run by the city of Ocala. They have tennis teams that compete at different levels in different age groups. Lee has found teams at our skill level that sometimes need more people to practice with, so today we were part of a rotation on three courts playing doubles.
Now, I've never had a tennis lesson in my life, I have a $2 racket from Goodwill, and it's been about 15 months since I've played. Plus, I'm more out of shape than I've been in awhile. But I have some athletic ability and with some practice and confidence, I think I can hold my own. More than anything it'll be a lot more fun way to shed some pounds than running.
So, at the end of the two hours, I was drenched in sweat and still alive. I'll probably be feeling it tomorrow, but it was a great workout. And, I was already asked by one of the players to fill in for him tomorrow. Assuming I can walk, I'm in. :)
The tennis center offers annual memberships, or you can pay $5 per hour of court time. But they will also work with you on short term memberships, and I'll look into that next week when the staff is back at full force.
Back home, I showered and returned a few more emails before pulling out the grill. I grilled up two pork chops for dinner, and then we had a pleasant, relaxing evening. The temperatures have been in the mid-80s during the day with a bit of humidity (a lot of humidity compared to the western U.S. but not too bad compared to parts of Costa Rica), and the evenings have been nice. We've been able to keep the windows open the two days we've been here so far.
Well, that's it for today. See you tomorrow. :)
