We were both up very early this morning. Our minds run in circles just before a Rally. :)
Linda was doing the ol' "making a list and checking it twice". She headed out to find the Walmart and a Dollar Tree in the town of Franklin. Well, both of them had moved and her GPS didn't know that.
She ended up driving 27 miles on a wild goose chase before ending up back at the RV park. After getting human directions, she found both stores in the same area about five miles away. :)
While she was gone, I decided to test my lungs in the little fitness center here at the park. I did twenty minutes on the eliptical trainer, then walked a half mile and then ran a 6 mph half mile on the treadmill. Yay, no shortness of breath. :)
When Linda returned, she picked up boxes from the RV park office. Supplies and door prizes and mail for us will be arriving daily before the Rally.
Our Rally T-shirts arrived, and I'll post a photo of one after our Rally attendees get to see them on Thursday.
Also, we received a case of our brand new RV-Dreams 16 oz. insulated tumblers.
They are made here in the good ol' U.S.A. and come with a lifetime guarantee. We're making them available to the Rally attendees first, but we'll have them for sale online very soon. :)
In the afternoon, I took my four-foot level and walked around the RV park to see if I could find a place to weigh RVs. Nope. It's a hilly place and there isn't anywhere inside the park that meets our standards.
So, we drove toward town and ended up in the parking lot where the Walmart used to be - the GPS knew that location. :) It's about four miles from The Great Outdoors RV Resort, but we found a nice, level place and it will be easy in and out when we do our weighings next Tuesday. Glad that's done.
Back home, I got the grill out and grilled some small bacon-wrapped filets while Linda cooked some sweet corn-on-the-cob. I'd been craving some corn-on-the-cob for several weeks. Oh, it was goooood. :)
After dinner, we prepared for the pre-rally evening campfire. There are no firepits at the sites but they will bring you a portable one if you ask.
There is some grass between the sites, but the sites are tiered, so there's not enough room for a gathering of more than a few people. So, we moved our vehicles to overflow parking, and set up the firepit in the middle of our driveway.
We got the fire started around 7:00 and made sure the four couples already here got invited. It was a cool evening with almost no breeze, so we had a very pleasant time sitting by the fire and chatting.
Eventually, we called it a night.
Tomorrow will be more of the same as a few more folks arrive. It's fun meeting all the people we've never met and reuniting with the ones we have. :)
