We slept well and took it easy today. The only thing on the agend was to figure out where we are going next, and to pick up some groceries.
In the afternoon, we left the park to go to the grocery. Right outside the park entrance is what is known as the Westwego Shrimp Lot. And I had been wanting to check it out since the first day we drove by it.
The twenty or so vendors sell fresh fish, shrimp, crawfish, crabs, and oysters and it's all local.
I zeroed in on some jumbo Gulf shrimp.
I remembered to bring a cooler and soon it was filled with a few pounds of big, fresh Gulf shrimp. We could have gone back to the campground as far as I was concerned. :)
But we proceeded on to the Super Walmart about five miles away, did our grocery shopping, filled the Jeep up and headed home.
There wasn't much else going on today. In figuring out where to go next, we ultimately decided to go to a small RV park near Kinder, LA tomorrow.
With it being Easter this weekend, availability at state parks is limited. So, we'll see how this new RV park that not too many people know about yet works out.
We'll let you know. :)
