The first thing on the agenda today was to do a thorough cleaning of the rig. We got to it shortly after we got up.
Usually, I clean the shower and then get the heck out of the way. But today, I was much more involved and we knocked it out together in about three hours.
Ah, that feels good. :)
After noon, we hung a picture on the wall. From the day we started, I haven't wanted to put any holes in the walls of the fifth wheel. We've been using "industrial strength" velcro to hang everything.
While the velcro works great and we've never had anything fall off the walls while traveling, eventually the velcro gets "tired" (usually the adhesive on the back) and has to be replaced. We have one picture in particular that is pretty heavy and it has fallen off while we've been sitting still - didn't get new velcro on it quick enough. :)
Fortunately, where that particular picture hangs, there is a 2 x 4 stud, so we were able to screw the picture to the stud. That may be the only available wall space in the whole RV where there was a stud we could use. :)
After that, we worked on re-inforcing a large drawer under the refrigerator. It holds all of Linda's pots and pans and other large kitchen gadgets. The wood was stapled together and coming apart. Also, the floor of the drawer was sagging. So, with some screws and some brackets, I got that taken care of. It took me about a year to do that project. :)
In the evening, we joined in the Wednesday night couples' scramble. With Tom & Wanda, we finished 3-under par and each couple won a gift certificate for the resort.
But the big news was that we were closest to the hole on the "Closest To The Pin" prize hole. Actually, Linda was closest to the hole - out of everybody in the whole scramble. :)
She hit a shot up onto the green of the par-three 3rd hole and it ended up two feet from the flag. But it took an attempt from all four of us to make the birdie putt. Anyway, she earned all of us a sleeve of golf balls. :)
After the scramble, we sat down with everyone for an oriental buffet in the Grill. And Linda and Wanda convinced one of the gals behind the bar to fix them a Polar Bear drink. Ice cream drinks are sweeping the resort. :)
And that was about it for another day. On to tomorrow. :)
