RV Electrical Stuff & Not Much Else - (Louisville, KY)
Well I woke up today prepared to do the usual Journal entry about our activities the prior day, Labor Day.
We didn't do much, so it should have been short. However, one thought led to another and I got on another of those rolls I tend to get on. :)
Apparently, you liked it. Thanks for the comments! :)
One thing I wanted to clarify from that entry was that Linda & I are both very positive people. Our working lives were by no means miserable, and we had many fulfilling moments.
But we didn't do our jobs because we loved them. We did our jobs because we were good at them, we liked them enough, and they helped us earn money. :)
We had passion for doing a good job, but not for the jobs we were doing. And without the passion for the jobs, our happiness, while great, was not to the level it could be and we were hindered by the distraction of the jobs.
So if I left the impression that we were miserable while working, it wasn't quite that bleak. We weren't making the best of a bad situation, we were making the best of a pretty good situation.
We were pretty darn happy, just not completely connected with each other and realized we could be happier. And we certainly didn't want to do what we were doing for the next 20 - 30 years. :)
Okay, now that I got that off my chest ... :)
We did weigh in on Monday and Linda lost another 1/2 pound. I, on the other hand, found it - I gained a 1/2.
But our weight loss group lost another 11 pounds for the week. Yahoo! :)
On Monday, we had also put out more bird feeders and the birds were starting to show up this morning. Linda counted over a dozen species, so she is very pleased. :)
Today, I once again worked on our RV Electrical Page. I have tweaked that thing so many times, and Linda is getting tired of me working on it. :)
So here is what I'm going to do. I'm gonna give you the link to the page so you can look it over as it is. Then I will tweak it a little bit more based on any suggestions or corrections you might have before making it live for everyone to see. Sort of a "Journal reader only" special preview. :)
So check it out at RV-Dreams RV Electrical Discussion.
The next thing I will do is put up the step-by-step process for our electrical upgrade on a separate page. But preparing this general electrical page helped me build my understanding of exactly what we accomplished so I can explain it better. :)
Linda has gotten several bracelet orders so she focused on that while my nose was stuck in the computer all day.
We did take a break so she could drop off a couple bracelets for my Mom and we visited for a short time. Then it was back home where I continued massaging the new web page while Linda visited the horses.
That was about it. More website time and beading time while watching TV and then off to bed.
Until tomorrow! :)

Howard,
The electrical page is great stuff! I even started to remember some of the things I learned 25 years ago when I had to study some of this in school. There are lots of things there to consider in requesting modifications if you're ordering a new unit, if your manufacturer is willing to make them. Seems to me too that it ought to be pretty simple to build a spreadsheet template (if you're spreadsheet literate, which I am not) to do the necessary calculations to size things when ordering (assuming you can get the amp info on the appliances you want) or for an electrical system upgrade later on... Again, great stuff!

I was hoping for the battery monitor discussion, as I do not have experience with those products. Everything else looks good. Oh and I am a lurker but should take the time to sign in one of these days.

I know exactly what you meant! For the most part we have liked our jobs, but...
We still have to work for now, found the perfect climate for us in WA 2.5 years ago, but we are moving to an area in FL in a few months that we don't love -- but, it is so we can work 5 months a year at a job that will earn us enough each winter, we can RV the other 7 months. I think that is a pretty good trade off!
Now to go back and find all the info I read about full time RVing when I didn't need it! Starting here.
Congrats on y'all's steady progress with Weight Watchers.

Howard, thanks for the battery information. I haven't read any of the side explinations yet. I am just learning. This interests me, but I am not sure we are ready for serious boondocking.

Holy cats! The electrical page is GREAT. Thanks for laying it out it layman's terms for those of us who are, uh, challenged.
