It was a pretty day in Louisville - mid 80s and low humidity.
We left the rig around 9:30 am and returned home around 11:30 pm. A long day, but a lot was accomplished.
First, it was the dentist for teeth cleanings. Since we are self-insured on our dental care, we paid using our Health Savings Account. For those of us that are not yet eligible for Medicare, Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) have lots of benefits. Check out our HSA page for more information.
Next was a run to the home of our friends Jeff & Stephanie. Stephanie receives our mail. She scans and emails the important stuff to us. She holds the rest until we request it or pass through Louisville.
Stephanie had received the title to the Jeep and we needed to pick that up to get it registered in Kentucky.
Next was the Jefferson County Clerk. To register an out of state vehicle, you have to get it inspected by the sherrif. That was a two minute process where he matched the vehicle identification number and description to the documents.
Then we waited for about 15 minutes until our number was called. Got our registration, our plates, and paid our taxes. Mark another chore off the list. :)
Back in the Jeep, we had to go to a different county clerks office to renew Linda's drivers license. She was presentable for her picture today. :)
We both signed up to be organ donors with our license renewals. And now our licenses are good until 2011. Another item off the list.
Next was a stop at Sam's Club. We picked up some small propane cylinders for our grill and one of those folding tables like Wes & Jan have.
Here is the link: Lewis & Clark Fold & Go Camp Table.
We will sell our other table since this one is more compact when folded up and it's lighter. The other thing we like about this table is the adjustable height. We have seen lots of other similar tables, but the ability to set this one for any height chairs made the difference. :)
Then it was a gas fill-up, a car wash, and a stop at Dollar Tree to pick up some of those long, butane lighters. We always try to keep a small supply of those for lighting the grill, campfires, candles, etc.
By now it was late afternoon. We made our final stop at my parents where we had a family gathering for dinner. After some delicious white chili with sweet cornbread, we sampled a couple of pies - lemon and chocolate. Linda was much more disciplined than I. :)
The ladies chatted and played cards while the boys watched a little baseball. We called it a night around 11:00.
Once home, it didn't take long for us to get to sleep. I'm ready for a relaxing day tomorrow. :)
Wow! It's been a busy August for us. No wonder it's over already. :)
